Challenge
In 2019, at the outset of the pandemic, an urgent need arose to enhance the patient experience at MinuteClinic. At the time, patients were required to use public kiosks to pre-register before their visit, which presented several challenges, including hygiene issues, ease of use, and accessibility concerns. There was a critical need to relieve health providers from the burden of information collection before visits, allowing them to focus on delivering quality care rather than spending time on administrative tasks.
Solution
The digital department swiftly addressed MinuteClinic’s needs by enabling patients to pre-register using their personal devices, thereby avoiding the need to touch public hardware. This allowed patients to utilize their personalized accessibility tools and reduced the administrative burden on healthcare providers before visits. Additionally, a new feature was introduced that allowed patients to notify healthcare providers when they were ready to be seen.
